Description

It wasn't exactly recently, but a couple of months ago my shy cat Miu passed, and she had something go very, very wrong with her. From what we could tell, she had severe aorta trauma, leading to her death.

This photo was taken several hours before she died, we knew she wasn't going to make it and I wanted a final photograph of her, as soon as she seemed somewhat more comfortable... And also as a record of her fur coloring patterns and eye color. Also as a reminder of how strong she tried to be, she wasn't loud, even though we could tell she was very uncomfortable. She couldn't focus her eyes, and they wouldn't stop moving. But she seemed more calm when we touched her, and reminded her that we were there. She passed peacefully in a quiet room, with person-strength painkillers to make it easier. My other cat, Nina seems like she's getting much older too, and probably will face her fate before long.

Rest in peace, Miu. In your spot under the Iris plants in mom's garden. I'm glad to have shared time with you.

As a cat lover, such stories in combination with such a photo, especially shot shortly before dying, really catch me deep down there. I would be as sad as if a girlfriend or anybody close would die, and if it was your situation, knowing the end is coming, I couldn't and wouldn't want to do anything away from her, not going to work or anything. Making her know, the supposedly most important person for her is around.

I am so glad I didn't meet her back in the time, otherwise I would be even more caring than I already am. It would so hit me if this happened with my cat. But I even taking him to the doctor once in a while without anything recognizable, just to check there is not some sickness hiding. ....... If somebody would treat him bad or..... For some reason kill him, I would ---at least--- beat the person to a several months hospital visit. Who knows what I'd really do.
